Join Jessie for a deep, slow and meditative exploration of how we are held in space. This practice is a combination of Tantric philosophy and playful flow, taking Yogis deep into the felt experience of the energetic body.
This session will encourage moving from within, grounded from internal alignment. Moving away from external alignment in this way will continue awakening and expanding the subtle body as it informs your regular practice.
In the physical body we have two kinds of energy; one is known as prana and the other is consciousness. Tantric philosophy refers to Shiva (consciousness) and Shakti (creative energy). In yoga, the concept of prana is scientific – it does not mean the breath, air or oxygen – it means the original life force, and it exists to varying degrees in layers or sheaths around every thing in the universe – including every part of the physical body.
Solidify your intention and creativity for 2017 with this immersive and relaxing afternoon of yin yoga and dream catcher weaving.
We will begin with a nourishing Yin class led by Lauren Howard-Tripp setting the intention for the creation of your own unique dream catcher led by Gaia of Lyrebird crafts. We will explore the sacred origins of dream catchers as well as the symbolism behind crystals and feathers chosen for your dream catcher.
Come and meet the Mindful Yoga Academy teacher training team and learn more about our transformational teacher training which begins October 2016.
Hear personal stories of how and why we became yoga teachers, about our course content, the prerequisites and what our commitment to you looks like.
Come join soul sisters Jess Dohnt, Coby Grant and Elka Eidleman as they take you on a journey through the chakras in an evening of salsa, yoga and chanting.
Chakras are energetic wheels that when circling in harmony promote health and wellbeing in the body and mind. Each chakra has a unique set of characteristics, which correspond to different parts of the body.
The core muscles have a huge impact on general health and wellbeing and on your yoga practice. ‘Strengthen your Roots’ is about finding your connection with the deep stabilising muscles of your pelvic floor, core and upper legs, working with the Bhandas, and finding the power that comes with that connection. In this workshop we create a safe space to talk about and practice pelvic floor awareness, correct standing posture and build core strength (working on more than just the abs!).
If we truly want to be happy and healthy then our subtle body needs to be in balance and harmony.
Understanding that our yoga practice extends way beyond the physical, in this workshop we look at the motivating force behind the physical body – The Subtle Body system.
